Hi, I’m Dawid Roux.

Engineering isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am at my core.

Growing up in humble beginnings in South Africa, some of my earliest memories are of taking toys apart to understand how they work (much to the dismay of my cousins, until I learned how to actually put them back together). We couldn’t always afford new, so I had to be scrappy and find ways to get creative and fix and create from what I had. Necessity is the mother of invention, and my ingenuity was encouraged by my family of similarly-minded individuals. I am a tinkerer, a creator, and someone filled with endless curiosity and passion to find new and improved ways of making things work. It’s what got me into this line of work and, with the encouragement of mentors I’ve met along the way, is what inspired me to start Roux Engineering Services in 2019.

My approach is one of honesty and transparency about what’s possible, a rooted-in-reality expectation for resolution, and the tenacity to get it done efficiently and properly. I’m not a sales guy, so you can expect straightforward communication without any fluff or empty promises. When production schedules are on the line, I strive to be realistic and direct so we can get to the task at hand and make an impact as quickly as possible.

If you talk to any of my customers, you’ll hear similar stories about how we first started working together, usually involving me parachuting in at the eleventh hour when most hope was lost to fix a critical issue on a single station. As operators, engineers, and maintenance staff pass by a station that’s been idle for weeks and suddenly is in motion again with a new face next to it, I start to get the “quick questions” of “hey, I have this little issue I’m stuck on, could you come take a look?” This leads to a snowball of impact as I work through longstanding issues plant-wide that have plagued production or quality with nobody available to help. Creating these “how’d you do that?!” moments is what’s allowed me to develop longstanding relationships and a reputation around our industry as being someone you want to have on speed dial when you need creative and speedy solutions. It is a source of pride that my work speaks for itself, which is why most of my customers have found me via word-of-mouth.

With controls and automation work on the rise, I’ve had the opportunity to expand beyond being a one-man operation. Sometimes growth can jeopardize the experience customers have come to know and expect. But I don’t take it lightly that my family name is in the name of my business. Whether you’re working with me or one of my trusted colleagues, you’ll receive the same attention, dedication, and oversight that my longtime customers have come to know and expect of Roux Engineering Services. I am a family-oriented man and value balance and integrity, which is why I am selective to not take on anything and everything that comes my way. If we start to work together, it means I have full faith that I will get the job done. Based in Metro Detroit, we serve customers not just in Southeast Michigan, but across the United States.

I look forward to seeing how we can partner together to drive measurable results for your business and having you become part of the Roux Engineering family.
